The officer suffered injuries to his face and hands.

"Behavior such as this is not acceptable and the Monroe Township Board of Education maintains zero tolerance for any individual who engages in threats, brings a weapon to school, or engages in violence," acting schools superintendent Dr. Brian McBride said in a message to families.

The high school was put on a "hold" status immediately after the incident. Dr. McBride also said no students were in danger.
